SIM Safety Consulting is committed to providing high quality safety training courses for people who work in Alberta, other provinces which include British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Eastern Canada and the Northwest Territories. We also provide onsite course delivery in Fort McMurray (and area plant sites), Edmonton (and area), Calgary (and area) our instructors come to your location to deliver the course equipped with all the necessary fall protection equipment. Clients need to provide the training facility which must be equipped with enough space to conduct the practical exercises. We strive for excellence and we have a reputation built on experience and professionalism. We train to the highest level whether you need OSSA accreditation or not our safety courses cover it all. Upon successful completion participants receive a 3 yr. certification that is OSSA approved.
The OSSA Fall protection course is a blend of theoretical and practical hands on training. The course is approximately eight hours in duration which includes powerpoint presentation, practical exercises, class participation, written knowledge test and practical exam.
What will you learn in the fall protection course?
Participants learn about the different pieces of equipment that make up a fall protection system as well as the rules regarding when fall protection systems are required, what to use and potential hazards. Students will also learn how to do a proper fall calculation and the minimum clearance requirements to work safely at elevated heights. SIM Safety Consulting training can be delivered in class at our location, on site or in the field 7 days a week.

- Fall hazard identification, elimination and control
- Calculating Fall Clearances
- Identifying the types of anchor points
- Different connectors and how to use them
- How to select don, and doff a fall protection harness
- Pre-use equipment inspections
- Rescue and escape planning
Students must be capable of performing a controlled weight transfer
